Laura Jackson is a Registered Physiotherapist, who has worked in Barrie for over 10 years. After studying Neuroscience at Carleton University she began a career in Brain Injury Case Management. She followed her passion for helping people and returned to school, receiving a Masters in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in 2014.
Laura enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them determine Physiotherapy goals, whether that be improving pain and function or optimizing movement for injury prevention. She completes comprehensive assessments to find the root of dysfunction, often finding many different areas that can be improved within an appointment. She has acquired extra education in advanced manual therapy, soft tissue and fascia release, movement biomechanics, exercise corrections and IMS Dry Needling.
Laura grew up in Barrie and learned her edges as a figure skater at Allandale Blue, before switching to playing hockey at Allandale Red. Laura is a ‘rink-rat’ who claims to have worked every job, except the zamboni, while attending Innisdale High School. After playing Varsity Hockey (Go Ravens!), she enjoyed coaching minor hockey (Go Sharks!).
These days you may find Laura at the Curling rink, or anywhere her husband and toddler may be.
